About Me

Hi, I’m Michelle. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2008. I have a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I consider Texas to be my home state, but have also lived in Louisiana, Tennessee, California, and New Mexico. Experience includes counseling adults and adolescents with a broad range of mental health concerns. I have worked in private practice, a pain management program, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and a geriatric day program. Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, all things creative, nature, traveling, live music, and taking a daily walk with my family.

Counseling Style

My style of therapy is best described as positive, open, collaborative, and based on research. I use a blend of data-driven therapies (such as CBT, ACT, and DBT) with a person-centered approach. Counseling sessions include the exploration of how specific thoughts, behaviors, and emotions interact with each other and how they influence one’s encounter with life and its challenges. I respect the unique experiences and preferences of my clients and personalize treatment with that in mind. It will be the client’s motivation, goals, interests, beliefs, personality, and preferences that will guide the work. I am happy to engage with clients who want to bring faith and spirituality into sessions, if they choose. I am passionate about helping others recognize and grow personal gifts and strengths as we work together to identify healthy coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills. I enjoy sharing up-to-date research on mental health so that my clients can have a wide base of information with which to make healthy choices that work for them.

  • Pain Management Therapy

  • Relaxation Training
